The cooler weather of fall means camping season is kicking into high gear. If you’re headed to Tahoe to get an outdoors fix but can’t handle roughing it in the woods, Basecamp in South Lake is where you need to be. It’s a boutique hotel in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, just a 5 minute walk to the lake and a 4 minute walk to the Heavenly Gondola. The design is perfection so it might be hard to leave… especially when you could hang in the hotel bar and drink hot toddies, roast s’mores by their fire pit or lounge in the hot tub.
