The Bee’s Knees Cocktail | The Post Social Valentine’s Day Series
In the first part of our Valentine’s Day Series we collaborated with the guys from the El Dorado Cocktail Lounge and the girls from Joielala Photographie to bring you a swanky cocktail that’s sure to impress your date — whether it’s your best friend or your lover. Stay tuned all week for the complete guide to a cozy evening at home.
The Traditional Bee’s Knees is a cocktail from the early 1900s. To make two cocktails, you will need the following:
2 Cocktail Shakers
1.5 Ounces of Fresh-Squeezed Lemon Juice
1.5 Ounces of Honey Syrup (3 parts honey, 1 part water)
4 Ounces of Medium Bodied Gin (preferably Plymouth Gin but Beefeaters is an acceptable substitute)
2 Egg Whites
Ice Cubes
Lemon Zest
In your first cocktail shaker, add the following ingredients:
1.5 Ounces of Fresh-Squeezed Lemon Juice
4 Ounces of Gin
In a separate tin, add the whites of two eggs and give it a good shake (this is making a froth!)
Combine the contents of both tins, shake and pour over ice.
Voila!
