What better way to celebrate the holidays than with an old school classic cocktail? We whipped up a Gin Gimlet and wondered why we haven’t been drinking these all along! This concoction should please young hipsters and grandparents alike. Pair it with a little Bing Crosby or Perry Como, and you’ll have one heck of a holiday celebration.

We’re loving these pictures of Christmas decor from HGTV. It’s all so modern, chic and very 2013. (The red & white stripped paper + black & white ribbon is gift wrap perfection.)

Artist Phillip K Smith III ventured to the California high desert, right outside Joshua Tree to create an optical illusion via mirrors on a 70 year old wood residence. He added mirrors to the walls of this desert shack to create the illusion that you can see right through the building. The door and windows of the building are fitted with mirrors that transform into brightly colored rectangles that slightly change color after dark.

Filson partnered with Detroit-based Shinola on a super sweet little bicycle called The Bixby. Both companies have strong histories of American manufacturing, making it a perfect fit. The Filson x Shinola Bixby bicycle is Shinola’s interpretation of a 3-speed bicycle for urban adventurers and commuters. The lightweight steel frames and forks are hand-crafted in Wisconsin, by Waterford Precision Cycles and the bicycles are fully assembled in Detroit, in Shinola’s small-scale assembly facility.

The Filson Green bike features stylish bamboo fenders and the special Portland Design Works rear rack with bamboo deck, featuring a custom laser-etched Filson logo. Filson also worked with Shinola on the Tin Cloth bags for the front and rear racks and the front can easily be taken with you as a carry-all for your shopping. Purchase one of these bicycles here. This could be the best holiday gift ever.
